“Preventing Frailty for a Prosperous Life in the 100-Year"

With the rapid aging of the population, extending healthy life expectancy has become an important issue, and interest in preventing frailty among the elderly is growing as a countermeasure. The key points and recent research trends in the prevention of frailty will be explained.

“Risk Management in Nursing Care Facilities: Learning from Case Studies to Prevent Accidents"

This session will introduce case studies of accidents such as falls and aspiration that occur in nursing care settings, review the background and factors behind such accidents, and explain countermeasures to prevent accidents. She will also address the importance of regular communication between staff and patients, and information sharing among staff.

“International Trends in Dementia Measures: Case Studies of Sweden and Japan” 

In Japan, the Basic Act on Dementia came into effect this year to comprehensively and systematically promote measures to enable people with dementia to live with dignity and hope. 

With an estimated 15% of the elderly, or nearly 6 million people, expected to suffer from dementia by 2040, how can we support people with dementia and their families in the community? This session will report on the efforts in Sweden and Japan, including the latest topics on dementia policies.
